Santa Hat 5K Cheer Squad

Ho, ho, ho, TVA ʻohana! On Sunday, December 6, our blind athletes run the Santa Hat 5K at Magic Island with their volunteer guides. Five are already registered with more on the way, and we want them to hear us from the first step to the finish line!

Grab your Santa hat and jingle bells and join the TVA Cheer Squad for one big, rip-roaring holiday cheer party. Blind and sighted cheerleaders, keiki, kupuna, friends and family: we want ALL of you. No running required. Just bring your loudest voice and your aloha spirit.

Game plan

• Meet up: 3:30 PM at our Run Club spot in the Magic Island main parking lot, by the accessible restrooms and Handi-Van drop off. Volunteers will guide you to the TVA tent.
• 5K start: 4:00 PM. Be in place by 3:45 PM!
• Keiki 1 Mile: 4:45 PM. Stay and cheer the little ones too.

Bring the noise

• Santa hats, elf ears, antlers, tinsel. The race even awards the best Santa hat!
• Jingle bells, cowbells, or shakers so our athletes hear us loud and clear
• Water, sunscreen, and comfy shoes. Chairs won't be provided.

Volunteer needs

• A lead volunteer to load, transport, and set up the TVA tent
• A welcome crew to guide blind and visually impaired cheerleaders from the Handi-Van to the cheer section
• Cheer captains to keep the energy sky high
